Carmelo Hayes beat Roderick Strong to unify the NXT Cruiserweight and North American Championships at NXT: New Year’s Evil on January 4, 2022. Melo overcame his biggest test to date as well.

Carmelo Hayes put his title on the line against Ricochet at NXT Worlds Collide tonight. The opening match on the card was fast-paced from start to finish. Melo won the match with a roll up.

The A-Champ took to Twitter after his big win over Ricochet and declared himself the greatest NXT North American Champion of all time. Check out the full tweet below.

For those who didn’t get to watch NXT 2.0 this past Tuesday, Ricochet appeared during the closing moments of the show and challenged Melo for the title at Worlds Collide. Ricochet got the match but failed to reclaim the championship.
