AEW held a mandatory talent meeting at the Dynamite tapings last month. Tony Khan was reportedly “fired up” at the meeting as well, where he addressed topics such as contract tampering. One AEW star also requested their release.

The mandatory meeting included The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone. It was previously reported that AEW’s Chief Legal Officer reached out to WWE’s Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon via an email/message when it came to the contract tampering allegations as well.

WWE contacted multiple AEW stars about jumping ship as well. On the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported additional details regarding the situation. It was said that the stars WWE contacted had worked with Triple H in the past. It was also said that one AEW star had requested their release but it was denied.

“There was at least one person who asked for his release, which hasn’t been granted, and the person has a long time left on his deal.”

Ringside News exclusively squashed the rumor that Malakai Black asked for his release. Miro’s name was also taken off the table, because both men have years left in Tony Khan’s company.

Chris Jericho even alluded to this tampering recently as well. It is not known who the aforementioned talent is. Many have speculated it to be Malakai Black, but no concrete evidence has been given as of yet.

Who do you think asked for their AEW release? Sound off in the comments!
