Eddie Kingston ‘Pie-Faced’ Sammy Guevara During Heated Confrontation

Eddie Kingston made his AEW debut back in July 2020, where he competed against Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship during his open challenge. Since then he has become one of the mainstays of the company.

Ringside News reported that Kingston and Sammy Guevara recently got into an altercation backstage. We were told that “Eddie is suspended” after a dispute with Sammy Guevara went horribly.

In the end, Eddie Kingston was suspended right after the altercation, which led to him missing out on AEW Dynamite and Rampage tapings. Kingston also commented on his suspension.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, the issue between the two began after Eddie got mad due to Sammy Guevara not clearing the content of a promo that ended up being edited off a show.

We’re told that Eddie Kingston was mad because Sammy Guevara hadn’t spoken with Eddie or cleared the content of a promo that ended up being edited off a show. The two had not conversed since the Blood and Guts show where Kingston threw Sammy Guevara off of the cage. The crux of the frustration, however, was how Sammy Guevara followed up with this after being perceived as difficult working with Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page and Sonjay Dutt in the months prior. After that, we’re told that Kingston had yelled at Sammy Guevara, who smiled at him. Kingston responded by pie facing Guevara. Sammy ended up being incredibly unhappy with this and Kingston was suspended for two weeks.

Eddie Kingston vs Sammy Guevara is also likely off the AEW All Out card. We wonder if the match will end up happening at all, as all signs point towards it not taking place at AEW All Out.
