Update: We are still working to find out where this fight took place exactly. Initial word was this altercation took place backstage, but there is also a story that the location was the hotel after Dynamite. Eddie was suspended. New information is that this was a verbal altercation, and it took place weeks ago leading to Kingston’s suspension, which explains his absence in recent weeks.

Original: AEW has been getting a lot of criticism for the backstage stuff of late. Tony Khan is reportedly dealing with a lot of issues backstage ranging from CM Punk’s ‘receipt’ to Adam Page during Dynamite promo to many superstars being ‘unhappy’ with their booking. It appears that another issue has come to bite the promotion and this one may impact a match at All Out.

Voice of Wrestling reported that Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara got in a fistfight, which prompted AEW to possibly suspend The Mad King. As of this writing, there’s no official word on why the fight occurred in the first place.

Ringside News reached out to our AEW sources, and we have been able to confirm this report. There was a fight backstage, and we will keep you updated on the situation as we receive more details.

Kingston versus Guevara was the planned match for All Out. On-screen, the feud started after Kingston threw Guevara from the top of the cell during Blood & Guts 2022. Kingston was also visibly upset with the way his Barbed Wire Everywhere Deathmatch with Jericho ended.

Kingston and Guevara repeatedly took shots at each other in the leadup to All Out, with Guevara finally challenging Kingston to a match at the pay-per-view event several weeks ago. We’ll have to wait and see what AEW has in store for the two stars, but it’s very likely that their match on September 4th is off.

Why do you think Sammy Guevara and Eddie Kingston got into a fight? Sound off in the comments!
