Colt Cabana has not been seen on AEW programming for quite a while now. This is the case for both Dynamite and Dark episodes. Fans have been wondering the reason behind his absence as well. His status might also be the source for a lot of breaking points in AEW.

It was previously reported that Cabana was expected to be cut before several members of the rosters spoke up against it. This was said to be due to his bitter relationship with CM Punk. Numerous talent “went to bat” for Cabana, as he is well-liked backstage.

Even recently, CM Punk cut shoot promo on Adam Page, which made him have backstage heat in AEW. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been multiple breaking points in AEW concerning the top talent in the company, some of which have to do with Colt Cabana’s situation.

Right now, there is a ton of backstage drama involving many of the top guys that has gotten much worse in recent weeks. There’s a part of me where I just think Tony Khan needs to sit everyone down and air everything out before it gets worse. The big thing that started all this is that Colt Cabana is not in the Dark Order with no angle and stopped being brought to television. He was going to be cut, but Khan signed him for ROH.

This is really the catalyst of everything, although different people have different stories as to why it happened, including Page and Punk. But even if that didn’t happen, it was probably going to happen for something else, just given the nature of the different personalities involved. It feels like a number of people are close to their breaking point if things don’t get settle.

We will have to wait and see whether the backstage environment in the company will get better or not. Things simply do not seem to be going well for AEW at this moment.
