Colt Cabana officially signed with AEW in 2019 after making several appearances in the company beforehand. He was later recruited into The Dark Order and slowly turned heel as he aligned himself with the vicious group. However, Cabana has hardly been seen on AEW television since March. A new report suggested that the Dark Order member may’ve been on his way to getting fired by the company.

Fightful reported behind their paywall that Cabana was expected to be cut before several members of the rosters spoke up against it. The report added that there was a bit of “an uproar” backstage regarding the possibility of Cabana no longer being involved with AEW. Several roster members reportedly heard that Cabana’s current contract was not set to be renewed, going as far back as March.

It was also suggested that Cabana’s contract issues may have something to do with his troubled history with CM Punk. This all changed once Dark Order members Alan Angles and Stu Grayson also did not get their contracts renewed. After several roster members spoke up about Cabana possibly leaving, Cabana was added to the ROH Supercard of Honor.

Cabana’s last appearance in AEW was suffering a tag team loss against The Butcher and The Blade. There’s the belief that Cabana had been re-signed to be part of the ROH roster, but nothing has been confirmed so far. As of now, there’s no telling when fans can expect to see Cabana on television again.
