Andrade El Idolo recently had a very well-received match with Rey Fenix on AEW Rampage. After recently reuniting with former ROH World Champion RUSH, Andrade seemed poised for big things in Tony Khan’s promotion. Instead, an injury has temporarily halted his momentum.

Before last night’s episode of Rampage, Tony Khan noted that he has been hurt since his match with Fenix. Khan did not go into detail on the nature of the injury. He simply said that he would be ringside for the match between Private Party and the Lucha Bros.

Andrade took to Twitter to give an update on his injury status. He noted that it is nothing serious. He’s just having some inflammation in his ankle.

“Nothing serious. I have inflammation in my ankle, it is because I have been in the business for almost 20 years!!!”

Andrade El Idolo wrestled the match with Fenix because neither was able to work at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Tony Khan booked the match to try and make up for the international wrestling politics that kept both men off the show.

It shouldn’t be too long before Andrade El Idolo makes his return to AEW. Fortunately, he’s just dealing with what sounds like a minor issue. Once he is healed up, Andrade and Rush will be ready to get things back on track.
