Doubt Over Sammy Guevara Benefiting From Association With Chris Jericho

Sammy Guevara became one of the most beloved stars in AEW, mainly thanks to his solid in-ring prowess. However, none of that matters any more thanks to his relationship with Tay Conti. There is also doubt over Sammy Guevara benefiting from associating with Chris Jericho.

The Spanish God has largely been associated with Chris Jericho since the beginning of AEW back in 2019. He aligned himself with Jericho as part of The Inner Circle and now as part of The Jericho Appreciation Society.

While speaking on the Official Jim Cornette YouTube channel, Jim Cornette talked about Guevara associating with Chris Jericho. Cornette expressed his doubt over Guevara actually benefiting from the association.

“Maybe backstage suggestions or whatever but did Jericho really elevate him (Guevara) anywhere that he wouldn’t have gone to begin with because people like all that crazy s**t that watch AEW? But then they (fans) started liking everything that Sammy did but when they started letting Sammy be himself, people started not liking him.

I mean it’s hard to say I don’t know if he still wouldn’t be kind of in the same place he’s in if he had anything to do with Jericho.”

Sammy Guevara made it clear he can challenge for the TNT Championship now that Wardlow is the champion. We’ll have to see when the two will clash for the title.
