WWE has once again filed for several new trademarks with the US Patent & Trademark Office. Two of them appear to be named for upcoming teams. The other is most likely going to be used for an on-air personality. The new filings were all standard for WWE trademarks, with nothing unusual standing out.

The company has trademarks “Sol Ruca,” “Dyad,” and “Schism.” It is not known how WWE plans to use the names. Typically, new WWE trademarks end up debuting on NXT in fairly short order.

The description for all three is the same. It is the normal language that WWE uses in wrestling-related trademark filings. WWE plans to use the names for general pro wrestling purposes.

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

“Schism” is a word describing a rift between two opposing parties. “Dyad” means something that consists of two parts, so it would not be surprising to see tag team get the name. Sol Ruca appears to be slated for a singles competitor or other on-air personality.

We will have to wait and see how WWE uses the new names. The company is always expanding its library of intellectual property, especially in NXT. It could be as soon as Tuesday when we know for sure.
