Matt Cardona is always looking for an opportunity to get himself heat. The former WWE superstar has made killing with his heel work on the independent circuit since parting ways with the company. The former Zack Ryder recently mocked the ongoing situation between Sasha Banks, Naomi, and WWE. One of his former coworkers wasn’t happy about it.
Cardona tweeted a picture of the time Kane pushed him off the stage in a wheelchair. Matt then said if he could go back in time, he would walk into Johnny Ace’s office and place his neck brace on the table and walk out because he wasn’t getting enough respect as internet champion. Many saw this as a slight both against Sasha and Naomi as well as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
CM Punk didn’t waste much time in firing back. Punk famously left WWE after an untold number of disputes with management. The Second City Saint is once again siding with the talent in this instance.
“If you’d go back in time to stand up for yourself, you should stand up the workers now.”
Matt Cardona’s heel character has always drawn a ton of heat from fans. In this case, he was likely just making heelish joke. CM Punk took the opportunity to stand up for the rights of his fellow wrestlers.
The situation involving Sasha Banks and Naomi has many divided over who is right and who is wrong. Matt Cardona’s internet opinion should always be taken with a grain of salt. CM Punk might not find the issue so humorous.
