WWE released several employees including WWE Superstars over the past couple of years. This started with the release of Superstars such as Chelsea Green and Mickie James. It seems Nia Jax made an interesting claim about Lana as well.

Back in June of last year, WWE held yet another round of cuts from the company and it featured several big names such as Braun Strowman and Lana. She was let go due to her lucrative contract with WWE, which Lana signed back in 2019.

Prior to her getting fired, Lana and Nia Jax were both part of Total Divas. Lana was largely seen as the more dramatic character but she left the show in 2018. Nia Jax was part of the show from 2017 to 2019. While speaking on Renee Paquette’s The Sessions podcast, Nia Jax claimed that she was told to be the controversial character on Total Divas after Lana exited the show.

“I remember that last season we did when Ronda came on, I was told, basically, because they got rid of Lana, they told me, ‘We need some people to be a little more controversial, and last season you were too appeasing.’ I was like, ‘So you want me to start drama?’ Then I was like, ‘What?!’

Even on Total Divas I really could not be Lina. It was still Nia Jax. That was one thing I took away. I was like, ‘Damn, the line was so blurred. Even when I got nominated for a People’s Choice Award, it was Nia Jax. It really was very weird to me.”

Miro already commented on Lana possibly joining AEW, as he noted that it is ultimately her decision. She also dropped huge tease about making her AEW debut previously. It remains to be seen what is next in store for Lana now that she is finally free.
