Shane McMahon made his return to WWE television after long hiatus, as he was part of the Royal Rumble match this year. Ringside News exclusively reported his appearance and his performance in the match was not necessarily anything to write home about. It seems WWE nixed yet another Shane McMahon match. WWE

As Ringside News exclusively reported, Shane McMahon has a substantial amount of heat on himself for taking over the men’s Royal Rumble match booking as McMahon simply wanted to put himself over in the match. We later exclusively reported that creative plans for Shane McMahon changed after all that heat.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Shane McMahon was originally going to be one of the entrants in the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Title.

As previously reported, WWE changed up creative plans for Shane McMahon. In addition to that, WWE also nixed a Shane McMahon vs Seth Rollins match at WrestleMania 38, which would have started in the Elimination Chamber.

Shane McMahon was going to be in the Chamber and set up a feud with Seth Rollins for WrestleMania. I don’t know if that was going to be the (WWE) Championship match, but it’s obviously – whether it is or it isn’t – that was changed, so I don’t know how that relates to Shane McMahon at WrestleMania, but this was supposed to be the step to that.

WWE also considered having Bobby Lashley and Shane McMahon duke it out at WrestleMania 38 but that was also nixed. We exclusively reported that WWE already has all WrestleMania title match plans locked into place. We will have to wait and see what WrestleMania 38 plans WWE has for Shane McMahon.
