WWE had a lot of ideas for WrestleMania 38, but they have now landed on which direction they are going for the show of shows to great degree. It turns out the company was considering a very interesting option for Shane McMahon this year.

Ringside News heard a rumor that Bobby Lashley’s WrestleMania opponent is none other than Shane McMahon. We asked around about that and things were cleared up in a big way.

A rumor is gaining steam that Shane McMahon might battle Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania. We were told this is not the current plan, but “this was an idea floated around before Day 1.” However, “after Day 1, this idea was switched to something else.”

As previously reported, WWE changed up creative plans for Shane McMahon. He is no longer slated to work the February 19th Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia. Shane McMahon was replaced by Austin Theory for that event.

We exclusively reported that WWE already has all WrestleMania title match plans locked into place. Things can always change at Vince McMahon’s discretion, but it appears that the All Mighty and Shane McMahon will not throw down in Dallas at WrestleMania 38.

Keep checking back with Ringside News as we continue monitoring this ongoing situation.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
