Chase Owens currently wrestles for New Japan Pro Wrestling as member of the Bullet Club. The Crown Jewel has made an impressive career for himself despite never signing with a major American wrestling company. Chase is one of the last great examples of an independent star who charts their own course.

Owens is a regular on the independent scene in addition to his duties for NJPW. Chase recently announced that he was pulling out of two indie shows that he was scheduled for this weekend. A positive COVID-19 test was the culprit.

Chase first tweeted the news. A later Instagram post provided an update on his condition. Owens said he is currently asymptomatic and feeling fine.

“Unfortunately I’m going to have to cancel off @KfwTn and @innovatepw this weekend as I just tested positive for COVID. I felt horrible wed and Thursday and tested negative. Feeling great since Saturday but just tested positive today. Sorry everyone”

“Was super sick last wed and Thursday. Thursday and Friday I tested negative. I’ve felt great with no symptoms since Saturday but tested positive yesterday causing me to pull off my shows this weekend. Before you start saying get well just know that I already am better with no symptoms so I am fine.”

It sounds like Chase Owens is already well on the road to recovery. Fans who were planning on seeing him wrestle this weekend will surely be disappointed. The important thing is that he’s feeling better and will be back on the road in no time.
