Many Backstage Didn’t Like Bron Breakker Smashing NXT Logo Spot

Rick Steiner’s son Bron Breakker has been a force to be reckoned with ever since he debuted in NXT 2.0 last year. His popularity soared every passing week and it is unlikely to stop anytime soon. He also previously addressed being compared to Brock Lesnar.

As seen on this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil event, Bron Breakker challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship in the main event of the show. In a true passing of the torch moment, Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa for the title.

Prior to the start of the match, Bron Breakker had a very interesting entrance. It saw him break free from chains, before smashing a giant gold X in the style of the old NXT logo.

According to Fightful Select, many people backstage in NXT didn’t take too kindly to Bron Breakker smashing the old NXT logo at all as they felt the spot was symbolic.

Several people that we spoke to within NXT felt that Bron Breakker being scripted to kick the gold “X” in half was symbolic, and many didn’t like it.

Bron Breakker also celebrated his huge NXT Championship win with his father. It remains to be seen how he will be booked in the coming months as he is now the NXT Champion and ushered in the new era of NXT for good.
