The rosters that we see on the internet and on TV for WWE wrestlers don’t always reflect what’s going on behind the scenes. The folks in charge of the promotion keep their own internal lists so they know who is available for what show. Brock Lesnar had been involved in a program on SmackDown with Roman Reigns most recently, but things have changed.

Lesnar was switched from his cancelled match against Roman Reigns to the WWE Championship match at the Day 1 premium live event on New Year’s Day. He surprised everyone when he defeated Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley to win the title. The WWE Championship is the primary world title on the red brand.

It appears the internal rosters have changed. Brock has been shifted to the Raw side for those purposes, according to Mike Johnson of PW Insider. He will still appear on both shows moving forward and be presented as a free agent.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Lesnar will remain on both shows. WrestleMania plans for a match with Roman Reigns have not changed. If anything, the company considers a champion vs champion match an enhancement.

It is unknown how WWE will handle the titles in the WrestleMania showdown. It may be a unification match. They might also make it a non-title affair.

WWE was forced to make some dramatic changes to their Day 1 event. That doesn’t mean WrestleMania isn’t going on as planned. For now, fans will get not only the champion vs champion match, but the long-awaited feud between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. Everybody’s a winner in that situation.
