Kyle O’Reilly is likely on his way out the door of WWE NXT. The veteran wrestler was defeated by Von Wagner in a steel cage on last night’s NXT 2.0. With O’Reilly’s contract expiring, fans expected it to be his last night with the brand.

On a night when his friend Johnny Gargano was also saying goodbye, Kyle got to share the moment. The two embraced after the show went off the air. Now, Kyle has sent his fans a message on Twitter about his likely departure.

“Truly overwhelmed by all the love and heartfelt messages. By no means does this mean goodbye… just smell ya later.”

Rumors have swirled for months since news broke that both Gargano and O’Reilly’s contracts were expiring soon. Many fans have Kyle pegged to sign with AEW. One thing is for sure, though. They’ll see him soon.

Kyle’s ReDRagon tag team partner Bobby Fish signed with AEW after his time in NXT. Undisputed Era leader Adam Cole is also with the company. No announcement has been made yet about Kyle O’Reilly’s future in wrestling.

O’Reilly experienced a great deal of success during his time with NXT. With the company shifting the focus of the brand to developing younger, less experienced talent, they didn’t see the former Ring of Honor stars as a good fit. There is no doubt that Kyle O’Reilly will land on his feet, wherever he decides to go.
