AJ Styles and Omos were scheduled to face Raw Tag Team champions Matt Riddle and Randy Orton, but plans changed. The only advertised match for last night’s Raw never took place.

While no clear reason for Styles’ absence from the show was given on the air, we may now have some insight. Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason for The Phenomenal One not being at the show is a likely injury.

It was said that the former WWE Champion is likely injured, because that would be one of the main explanations for why he wasn’t on the show. WWE only advertised one match for this week, and the RAW Tag Team Title match with AJ Styles and Omos didn’t happen.

AJ and Omos were defeated in a title match by RK Bro at Crown Jewel. AJ ate the pinfall after an RKO and a floating Bro from the champions. That Crown Jewel rematch didn’t take place on RAW this week.

Fans won’t know for certain until WWE or Styles confirms otherwise. The nature or timing of any potential injury to AJ Styles is unknown right now. He does have a recent history of shoulder problems.

There have been rumors that Styles was working with an injury. As of right now, it’s the most probable explanation for the cancellation of the bout with Orton and Riddle.
