It was on last week’s episode of SmackDown that Sasha Banks would face Becky Lynch, and she would utter those intense words, made famous in pro wrestling, by the legendary CM Punk via her Twitter account: “It’s Clobbering Time!!”

It would seem that the wrestling legend and AEW star would respond, but oh-so-respectfully and with tact, as is his fashion. He would simply tweet:

“Indeed it was…”

Punk’s relationship with WWE is less than stellar. He has been very vocal about abuse he suffered at the hands of the company, especially since his return to the ring. He has made no secret of how he feels about Banks’ current employer.

Banks, for her part, sees no issue with referencing stars that are no longer with the company, or perhaps even in the middle of hellacious controversies. It was only last week or so, that Banks tweeted a picture of herself showing off the bottoms of her shoes, the catchphrase “Wooooo,” scrawled across the heel.

This phrase was made famous by the one, the only, the legendary, Ric Flair. He has been in the middle of a very controversial spell since the airing of 2 of Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring episodes. One featuring the details of the ill-fated flight from the UK entitled “Plane Ride From Hell,” and a subsequent episode in which comments Flair made about the late pro wrestler Kanyon, were very negative.

Regardless, Banks sees no problems in bringing attention to these in-ring legends. We wonder only if Punk’s statement mean that he watched her match against Lynch, which was pretty much a slobberknocker, to jack yet another wrestling legend’s lines. Sorry, JR.
