WWE held the 2021 WWE Draft and they didn’t get around to naming everyone. Those undrafted Superstars are now free agents, meaning they can appear on either brand at this juncture. Many of those Superstars are part-timers or injured, but it doesn’t make it any less interesting.
Brock Lesnar was the first to declare himself a free agent. He apparently did this with the help of Paul Heyman. Then Bayley declared herself a free agent as well. She is currently injured and waiting for her return to the ring.
WWE also left names like Asuka and Lacey Evans undrafted. Asuka was recently spotted in an arm brace, and Lacey Evans is currently pregnant and waiting for baby #2. In a rather surprising move, Eva Marie is also a free agent now. Elias is also a free agent, because he recently killed off his character and will theoretically reinvent himself next.
The Undertaker and John Cena were also left as free agents. Only time will tell if/when either of them make a return to WWE television, but they will have the freedom to choose if that day comes. Shane McMahon is also a free agent at this time, but his status with WWE has been a matter of concern in recent memory.
Interestingly enough, Shane Thorne is also a free agent. He recently tried out a new Crocodile Dundee gimmick that garnered a lot of attention. Gran Metalik is also a free agent, and he just requested his release from WWE.
You can check out a full list of current free agents below. WWE can always declare them on a brand with a simple tweet, but it is still interesting that so many names remained undrafted.
