Ric Flair was a major focus for Dark Side of the Ring’s episode about the Plane Ride From Hell. He trended on Twitter and Tommy Dreamer was suspended from Impact Wrestling because of the episode as well. Ric Flair denied the allegations against him. There are also calls for AEW to leave Flair alone after the episode.

AEW seemed to be setting the stage for Ric Flair’s debut. Andrade El Idolo and The Nature Boy seems like a natural team. That might not happen after this week’s Dark Side of the Ring.

Ric Flair was not punished after the Plane Ride From Hell. Jim Ross was quoted on the show as saying that Flair was “a made man” at the time.

“It might be harder for Tony Kahn to bring Ric Flair immediately to #AEW after last night’s #darksideofthering episode. Yikes. Tommy Dreamer blindly defending it was rough too,” one fan tweeted out.

“So Ric Flair in AEW is ALL OUT,” another fan reacted. Even more fans were cracking jokes, but most were appalled by that allegation against Flair.

Others sent out messages hoping that Ric Flair never works again. This was a huge backlash and fans are also calling on Tony Khan to “do the right thing” and never hire Ric Flair.

We will have to see if The Nature Boy ever shows up in AEW, but it might be wise to hold off on those plans if it is something Tony Khan wants. You can check out a variety of tweets below.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
