Ric Flair Reveals What He Told Vince McMahon Before His WWE Release

Ric Flair was released for his WWE contract in early August. Ever since the Nature Boy’s departure many have speculated as to the reason why he wanted to leave WWE. Following his release Flair made his feelings known about WWE as a whole.

Fans have asked questions about how McMahon handled Flair wanting to leave WWE. On Flair’s recent appearance on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Flair revealed his final conversation with McMahon.

Flair revealed that his finals conversation with McMahon before his release was a very pleasant one. Whatever speculation about hostility between the two industry legends has been denied by Flair.

“I talked to Vince after it was over and I said, ‘Whatever paths our lives take us, we’re always going to be brothers’. He said, ‘You’re damn right’. Ashley (Charlotte) would never leave there, she’s the happiest she’s ever been. Obviously, they’re not mad at me.”

Flair also said on the podcast that he wanted to make a living for himself without being on the wrestling payroll. Flair’s aspirations outside of wrestling was said by the man himself to be a major factor in him wanting to leave WWE.
