Ric Flair No Longer Under WWE Contract

Ric Flair and WWE have parted ways, and this comes during a very interesting time where the pro wrestling landscape is always changing.

According to a report from Wrestling Inc, Ric Flair requested his release from WWE and it was granted. This went into effect today. The Nature Boy is no longer under the WWE umbrella.

Ric Flair signed new deal last year and he tweeted out a photo of his freshly-signed contract. Now that deal is over and he wanted out of the arrangement. This was not an instance of WWE releasing Ric Flair to save money.

According to sources close to the situation, Flair requested the release and it was granted, effective today.

The Nature Boy was brought back to WWE television where he was paired up with Lacey Evans in an angle against Charlotte Flair. Evans became pregnant and she left television. WWE had to scramble at that point, because Evans was planned to become RAW Women’s Champion during that storyline.

We will have to see what’s next for Ric Flair, but he is now free to do as he pleases.
