AEW brought a huge show to Chicago this week as Rampage: The First Dance saw the return of CM Punk. Fans in the United Center were well aware that CM Punk was expected, and Tony Khan addressed the big show that they were about to witness before things kicked off.

Khan took the microphone and talked to the United Center crowd about 5 minutes before they went live. He promised a very special show, and then he talked about how it has always been his dream to bring pro wrestling to that Chicago landmark venue.

“I always dreamed to bring wrestling here. I always wanted it to be the biggest, greatest night imaginable. And tonight, I promise you, [we’re] bringing you something very special tonight at ‘The First Dance.’”

“It’s almost time for Rampage, everyone. We’re gonna have a great night tonight. I appreciate every single one of you. I appreciate you putting your faith in us. I appreciate you trusting us. Thank you for believing in AEW! Your faith will be rewarded tonight. Thank you, Chicago! I love you!”

CM Punk came out soon after Tony Khan left the stage. Videos of that big debut blew up Twitter in a big way and they also earned the company the #1 and #2 entries of the top trending topics on YouTube.

Obviously fans are very excited about CM Punk as Tony Khan fulfilled his promise to reveal a history making moment for the company. You can check out the video below.
