GCW fans were irate after their champion Nick Gage lost the GCW World Title to Matt Cardona at their Homecoming show on Saturday night. The pro wrestling world paid attention to the aftermath in a big way as well.

Fans in attendance hurled bottles and everything else they could, including pizza cutters, at the ring. That was followed by some critics of the event, particularly Dave Meltzer. It was claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio that GCW had plants in the crowd to throw empty bottles after the match.

Joey Janela obviously heard that report and he chimed in on Twitter. The Bad Boy sent out a sarcastic tweet to say that Game Changer Wrestling is currently looking for plants at their shows who will be willing to throw things when they don’t like how a match ends.

Have you ever wanted to be a “fan plant” at a wrestling show? Incite & encourage a riot after a disappointing result of a professional wrestling match? Well boy I have some news for you we are accepting applications at @GCWrestling_ hit us at GCWFANPLANTSNOTREALHEAT@hotmail.com

Ringside News has also been able to confirm that GCW did not hire any plants. That being said, they knew that the finish of the main event would draw a huge reaction from fans. They were prepared and did not sell anything in glass bottles during the show, because they anticipated that some fans might express their anger by throwing things.

That reaction Matt Cardona received was a real one, because GCW fans hated to see him take the title from Gage in such a way. Now we will have to see if Cardona can top that with his next appearance. Fans won’t have to wait long to see Nick Gage wrestle again, because he is slated for a No Rules match against “The Painmaker” Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite.
