Samoa Joe is undoubtedly one of the most talented and accomplished pro wrestlers in the history of the pro wrestling world and his time in WWE has been a great one, which has seen Joe win the NXT Championship and also titles on the main roster.

Samoa Joe would finally make his return to NXT last month, where he was offered to become the new NXT General manager, but turned down the offer. Samoa Joe then became William Regal’s new enforcer.

While speaking to Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT, Adam Cole talked about how Samoa Joe was a source of inspiration for him. Cole then stated he’s hoping and praying for a match against Samoa Joe and that Cole is sick of Joe ‘punking’ him out.

“It would be incredible. Samoa Joe was one of the guys responsible for me actually discovering independent wrestling. Him, along with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan – Bryan Danielson at the time – I remember seeing those guys and being like ‘Oh my god, I have to watch all of their matches!’“And I have never, in my 13 year career, wrestled Samoa Joe. We just never crossed paths. And I know things are very different now where we are unsure if Joe will ever actually get back in the ring, but you can guarantee if that day does happen, I will be hoping and praying as much as the NXT fanbase is that we have an Adam Cole and Samoa Joe match.

Aside from the fact that I do respect him so much, I’m sick of him punking me out! (Laughs). I gotta change this, immediately.”

Joe had previously made it clear he’s working on an in-ring return, so we certainly wonder if Adam Cole and Samoa Joe will be engaged in a feud in the future.
