WWE fired Kenice Mobley from her job as a writer. This took place following a podcast interview where she admitted to not knowing anything about WWE prior to being hired. This is something she told WWE about, and they gave her the job anyway.

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE is pushing to hire more comedy writers. It was also previously reported that fan reaction to Mobley’s statements had nothing to do with her firing.

Fightful Select reports that WWE staffers and Superstars alike felt disrespected by what Mobley said, and the way she went about saying it. It was also reported that WWE discourages their writers from openly talking about their jobs with the company.

They actively discourage writers from speaking about the job, and several wrestlers and staffers felt disrespected by the nature in which she spoke about the wrestling business after being hired, being on the team, and not knowing who the primary characters were.

It’s not rare for WWE to hire someone on who has no previous knowledge of the product. The trick is to not publicize it in such a way. Kenice Mobley’s firing was also fired by WWE fans blowing up her inbox with hatful messages, and that’s not okay.
