Daniel Bryan is a veteran in the pro wrestling business, having wrestled in various promotions all over the world before making his way to WWE. Last month, Bryan also mentioned that his WWE contract is expiring soon as well. As reported earlier, Bryan’s contract expired last week.

Many fans since then have been wondering where Bryan will go to next if he doesn’t re-sign with WWE. Tony Schiavone had earlier mentioned that AEW would sign Daniel Bryan if they could.

Now the question of how Daniel Bryan will be treated in WWE after his contract expired has been answered. According to PWInsider, there has not been an edict within WWE saying that Daniel Bryan isn’t allowed to be mentioned.

He was already mentioned on both The Bump and After The Bell this past week. Due to this, it seems that Daniel Bryan will not be treated the same was as CM Punk, who was actively banned from being mentioned in the company after his WWE departure.

In regard to Daniel Bryan’s status, there has been zero edict within WWE warning talents or employees not to mention Daniel Bryan on WWE programming.  He was mentioned on this week’s edition of The Bump as well as the After the Bell podcast, which featured speculation as to whether Bryan could appear outside of WWE.  If WWE was looking to distance themselves from Bryan after his bout against Roman Reigns and removing him internally from their roster, they are not actively doing so compared to say, CM Punk leaving and there being a lockdown on any mention of his name years ago.

WWE has pushing hard to get Daniel Bryan to sign new deal and it was also reported that WWE is leaving the door open for Daniel Bryan’s return. We will have to see what Daniel Bryan will do next.
