Chris Jericho shocked the world when he decided to sign with AEW when they were a young upstart promotion. His decision paid off in a big way and he is now Le Champion, but his contract does have an expiration date.

Jericho and WWE have not burned any bridge between them. His upcoming appearance on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions should be a big sign of that.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that when Chris Jericho’s AEW contract is up at the end of 2022, then WWE is likely to make him a pretty big offer.

“When his deal is up which I believe is at the end of 2022, so it’s a ways away, but when it’s up, of course he should play both sides against the other. That’s what he should do. Some people think that’s a bad thing, but I think that’s a good thing and see what the market brings.”

It was noted that Chris Jericho might not want to compete full time, but he could move to the television announcer job he’s been gaining more experience in. It might be a long way off, but you can also never count out the possibility of Vince McMahon opening his checkbook to get Chris Jericho back under the WWE umbrella.
