WWE placed Edge in a spotlight role for WrestleMania 37 after winning the 2021 Royal Rumble match. We previously reported that Edge’s WrestleMania opponent has been determined, the rest of this article contains some big spoilers, so you have been warned.

Edge is set to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37. The Rated R Superstar teased the WWE Title, and NXT Title, but he will be going after The Tribal Chief’s Universal Title. This will pit spear vs spear at the show of shows once again, only it will be Edge this time around instead of Goldberg. Also, the match will hopefully not be cancelled this time.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is set on Edge vs Reigns, but they have not landed on a winner for that match just yet.

At press time, while not announced, one of the WrestleMania main events will be Edge challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal title. Edge winning was for the storyline that Edge retired as champion and now that he’s come back, is looking to regain the title as the culmination of his return. Right now there is no plan regarding who wins this match.

Edge has pushed for himself to be booked in a very strong fashion. We already pointed out the glaring differences between how Edge and Daniel Bryan handle their positions of influence on the creative teams. It will be interesting to see how this match ends as WWE welcomes fans back to WrestleMania.
