Andrew Yang did not capture the bid to become democratic nominee for POTUS, but he has his eye on the Secretary of Labor position. If he gets that job Vince McMahon might need to worry.

Yang already fired big shots at WWE’s practices and how they consider Superstars independent contractors. This was in the wake of the company pulling Superstars from third party companies. Yang promises to do something about it.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Andrew Yang made it very clear that WWE’s days of making millions while “exploiting people” is over. He doesn’t know if he will be the one actually getting it done, but Andrew Yang will make sure to be present with Vince McMahon’s bill comes.

“Will I forget about this? Hell no. Vince and the gang, they thrive because the mainstream press won’t do anything because it’s wrestling. The wrestlers don’t say a damn thing because they know it will come down on them like a ton of bricks. So, ‘let’s keep exploiting people, make our millions, and we’ll get away with it for decades and decades.’ The bill is coming due and I’m going to be the person that does it or the person who is there when it’s done and it’s going to give me great pleasure because the people know.”

It appears that WWE’s decades-long practice of considering their Superstars as independent contractors might face its biggest opponent yet. Andrew Yang loves pro wrestling, and he grew up watching it. He cares about the business, but also about those who break their bodies in the ring and don’t receive the same consideration an actual employee does.
