Edge made his return to WWE during this year’s Royal Rumble. Sadly, he was injured at Backlash, but that isn’t the end of his return run in WWE. He will be back, and the company has a few good ideas for him.

The Rated R Superstar has already made it very clear that he will be gunning for Randy Orton upon his return. This was followed by Orton getting himself in a World Title program with Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.

It was previously noted that there is an idea to give the WWE Title to Randy Orton at SummerSlam. This would remove the title from Drew McIntyre before he gets to raise it in front of live fans.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is a pull backstage for Orton to win at SummerSlam, and then carry the title to WrestleMania. Drew McIntyre wouldn’t be in line for his redemption, but instead, Edge would be waiting to seek revenge on The Viper.

Orton winning, leading to a title defense against Edge at WrestleMania was an idea on the board.

A lot of things could change before now and then. Vince McMahon’s proclivity to go a different direction is mind-blowing nowadays. It seems that WWE is considering a change in the World Title picture.
