WWE has a lot of plans for SummerSlam, but they aren’t going to happen in Boston. The company just revealed that the event is not going down at the TD Garden and a new location has yet to be revealed (likely the Performance Center).

The company still has a line-up for SummerSlam. Any number of things can change in the meantime, but the company does have a direction in place. One match expected for SummerSlam will see Drew McIntyre defend the WWE Title against Randy Orton.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this match for SummerSlam could also come with a huge title change.

There have been rumors floating that Orton goes over and leads to a match with Edge, but that seems so counterproductive to take the title off McIntyre for Orton.

Randy Orton holding the WWE Title could also present an opportunity for Edge to re-enter WWE’s landscape in a title picture. We’ll have to see what they decide to do. Vince McMahon’s current mindset involves placing top Superstars out in front. It doesn’t get much more established than the Rated R Superstar right now.
