WWE released a lot of Superstars, fired staff, and furloughed producers on April 15th. This was due to budget cuts when the novel coronavirus wrecked their 2020 plans. One of those Superstars could have already re-signed with the company.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that he has a very good reason to believe that WWE has already re-hired Drake Maverick.

“I do now know the situation with Drake Maverick, I don’t wanna say too much, but I will tell you for various reasons I think this guy was re-hired. We’ll have to wait to know for sure.”

Maverick released an emotional and tear-filled video following his release from the company.

Drake Maverick making it all the way to the finals of the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was very interesting, especially since he is released. This could be a very notable time for Drake Maverick’s career.
