On Friday, Kimura posted photos showing self-harm along with a very troubling tweet which reads (translated to English):

“Nearly 100 opinions every day. I couldn’t deny that I was hurt. I’m dead. Thank you for giving me a mother. It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you to everyone who supported me. I love it. I’m weak. I’m sorry. I don’t want to be alive anymore. It was a life I wanted to be loved. Thank you everyone. I love you. Bye.”

The belief is that her death was the result of cyber bullying. Kimura was in a Japanese Netflix series called Terrace House. There was an incident on the show that led to her receiving hundreds of pieces of hate mail as F4Wonline explained.

“In an incident on Terrace House filmed in early January, a male housemate named Kai washed his clothes while her outfit that she wore at the Tokyo Dome was in the washer and then threw it in the dryer and ruined the outfit. She lost her temper and slapped him hard.”

CORRECTION TO MELTZER’S REPORT: She knocked his hat off his head. The two were having a conversation and he had his hat on. It was disrespectful for him to have the hat on, so she slapped it off his head. She didn’t hit him.

The episode was filmed in January and aired in late March. She dealt with attacks from cyber bullies in recent weeks. This act was also especially tough for her to take because of how she was respected in the athletic community and she carried such a responsibility to represent pro wrestling going into the show. Her depression increased in the past couple of weeks due to the online attacks.

This is an incredibly sad situation and our thoughts go out to everyone involved in this tragedy. Cyber bullying is a very serious thing and can not be taken lightly. This is a terrible example of things going way too far.
