Television ratings and viewership numbers matter in a big way for the Wednesday Night Wars. AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are going head-to-head at the 8:00 PM EST hour, but the numbers we get the next day are just the beginning of the story.

The numbers that roll in initially are the overnight numbers. That does not account for all of the viewership a show gets. Variety has a very interesting article that breaks down the actual Live +7 viewing numbers and demographics for both Wednesday night pro wrestling shows.

It is said in the article that AEW Dynamite gets 1.2 million viewers within the first seven days of the program. Comparatively WWE NXT pulls in 972,000 viewers.

It is said that AEW Dynamite averages 654,000 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with WWE NXT pulling in 438,000. Both of those numbers represent a significant jump from the regular overnight ratings with a 32% and 20% increase respectively.
