Thekla now knows who she’ll be defending her championship against at AEW Double or Nothing — and she’s going to have three challengers coming after her at the same time.

During the May 9 episode of AEW Fairway to Hell, AEW officially announced that Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s Championship in a four-way match later this month.

Her challengers will be Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter. That instantly gives Double or Nothing one of its biggest women’s matches of the year, especially with all four names being former top stars in AEW’s women’s division.

Thekla has continued building momentum since capturing the title, but now she’ll have to survive three former championship-level opponents all in the same match.

AEW Double or Nothing 2026 is scheduled to take place on May 24 from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
