Xavier Woods was wrestling at an Australian house show when he went down with an injury. He wasn’t even performing anything risky, but shooting off of the ropes caused his Achilles tendon to tear.

This injury could have simply been an issue of wear and tear. It can happen to anyone, and Xavier Woods had almost immediate surgery to fix his problem. Now he is recuperating.

Woods is out of action and doing a lot of video game streaming. His Up Up Down Down YouTube channel will also likely get a big focus. He has plenty of time to prepare for his return, because PW Insider reports that the backstage expectation is the New Day member will be out until next Summer.

Internally, Xavier Woods is not expected back until the summer of 2020 at the earliest from his Achilles’ heel injury.

It might be hard to wait until next Summer to see The New Day as a trio again. That will make Woods’ eventual return all that better. We continue to wish the best for Xavier Woods as he recovers from this unexpected setback.
