Cain Velasquez wrestled for the WWE Title at Crown Jewel. He did not win the match, but his problems in Saudi Arabia were just beginning.

Several top names were able to get out of Saudi Arabia before WWE flights were grounded. As it turns out, Cain Velasquez was not one of them.

Dave Meltzer reported during Wrestling Observer Radio that the former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion was actually one of the Superstars who was unable to leave.

“Cain I know was there because Cain — if he got home it was just today because Cain landed this morning or afternoon so I know that he stayed with the rest of the crew which is another interesting story with how Cain was portrayed.”

Thankfully, everyone did make it out of Saudi Arabia. Of course, WWE Superstars were made to feel like they were used as pawns in a power play in the process. It’s unclear which WWE Superstars will refuse to go back to Saudi Arabia the next time WWE holds an event.
