Edge Sends Emotional Message About WWE Return

Edge had a bit of a journey during Summerslam weekend. He ended it by making a return an Spearing Elias in front of a thrilled Toronto crowd, but it was a very emotional experience for more than one reason.

The Rated R Superstar got on Instagram and shared his thoughts about his WWE return. It might have been just for one Spear, but it was still an incredible moment. Fans might never have realized how much he was really going through if not for this emotional caption that he provided on Instagram.

This week was emotionally tumultuous. I hadn’t been back to Toronto since my mom’s funeral. I’d been putting off coming up here and taking care of some things. But when I heard Summerslam was in Toronto and I knew Beth had NXT work to do, I decided it was time to come home. It was difficult. It was draining. It was therapeutic. It was cathartic. I saw some family. I saw some friends. Cried a little. Laughed A LOT. Found some things I thought were lost forever. Last night I had one of those “fairy tale” moments. I was also reminded that no matter what happens in life this will always be…home.

Edge’s return meant a lot to fans as well. Because the video of him hitting Elias with Spear went absolutely viral last night.

It would be nice if Edge could return for another match, but it is even better that he had such an incredible experience before Summerslam kicked off in Toronto.
