Vince McMahon is still the billionaire who controls every move WWE makes. He can’t do it all alone though.

During the second quarter investors call, Vince McMahon explained that having Bischoff and Heyman around WWE will allow him time to focus on long-term storylines. It will help him not “get in the weeds” and also provide him with an opportunity to work on character development.

“One thing we have done is hire two Executive Producers. One for Raw, one for SmackDown and in doing so it allows me to look at a longer-range story-arc standpoint and also spend more time on talent development and not get in the weeds as much as I’ve had to do in the past.”

“That is a really, really good thing for long-term and for short-term as well as we’ve seen a big result already.”

We will only have to wait and see what kind of long-term booking will come about thanks to having Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman in their new roles. It will be a slow transition, but maybe we can someday have more faith that WWE knows what they’re going to do weeks in advance so we don’t have any more incidents like on SmackDown Live this week when Vince McMahon was typing out the second hour during the first hour.

Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
