WWE Extreme Rules is already a very loaded card, but there is always the chance that we could be seeing an addition to the show. We might even get new champions.

The IIconics have been WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions since WrestleMania. In that period of time Nikki Bella said that The Bella Twins and the IIconics were supposed to have feud. That didn’t happen due to Nikki’s brain cyst so Peyton Royce and Billie Kay held onto those titles.

The Kabuki Warriors recently won an opportunity to face the IIconics and Paige tried to get Asuka and Kairi Sane their title match on SmackDown this week, but the IIconics were able to slip away.

Brad Shepard reports that Kay and Royce might not be able to slip away soon enough because they could be in for a match at Extreme Rules.

A source in #WWE told me this week to expect new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at Extreme Rules, and the new champions are expected to be the Kabuki Warriors. We’ll see if that changes but the main idea is to get the ball rolling on the women’s tag team titles again.

Not only is it interesting that we could have new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but we could also get an addition to Extreme Rules which is already an enormous pay-per-view event with ten matches.

WWE needs to book a couple shorter matches with that many contests on the card anyway. So if the IIconics do have to defend their titles they might want to keep it short. Therefore, it might be best to expect a squash if this happens.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
