Impact Wrestling held their Slammiversary event last night in Dallas, Texas. It was a big show main evented by an intergender match between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard, however, the company did appear to suffer a big injury during the Impact Tag Team Title triple threat match.

Santana went down clutching his left knee and although it wasn’t caught on camera, Konnan threw up the dreaded X meaning that there was an injury. After the match, Don Callis even left the commentary booth to check on Santana as he was able to make it to his feet and walk to the back with assistance. However, this was all apparently a work.

PW Insider reports that “the Santana injury deal was storyline, not a legit injury.” Therefore, it seems as though Impact Wrestling was intentionally working the fans on this one.

It’s great that Santana isn’t really injured and this was obviously done in a way to explain why LAX didn’t win the match. The Latin American Xchange could be facing a crossroads themselves soon enough as their contracts are running up and there is interest elsewhere. It will be interesting to see where LAX is this time next year.
