Vince McMahon Is Aware WWE’s Scripted Promos Are A Bad Idea

WWE runs a very tightly scripted television show. Their Superstars speak only the lines written for them in the voice approved by Vince McMahon. This is presenting a big problem.

Promos come off as authentic when they’re being given from a wrestler’s actual perspective. This is the reason why MJF said he’s tear up script if it was handed to him.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that, “everyone in the world has been telling McMahon that and for whatever reason, he’s a control freak and everyone on the show has to speak in his unique language.”

Hopefully, hiring Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors will help change things, but everything is still ultimately approved by Vince McMahon. So we’ll just have to wait and see while we listen for any distinguishable differences between Superstars from this point on.
