NXT TakeOver: Phoenix is going to be a very exciting night full of action from WWE’s developmental brand, however one major Superstar isn’t on the show. Velveteen Dream wasn’t booked for a match at the upcoming TakeOver special which is very interesting for a couple of reasons.

Dream has been a highlight of TakeOver events for the last few specials, but he was left off of this card. Some fans are under the assumption that he might still have some heat on him after encouraging fans to spam WWE on social media in an attempt to demand his main roster call-up.

This action didn’t set too well with WWE and then Dream took the tweet down. There is also the idea that WWE could simply have plans for Velveteen Dream at the Royal Rumble.

They need thirty Superstars to fill all of the slots in the Royal Rumble match and they have used NXT Superstars for a couple of those positions in the past. Therefore, WWE might simply be holding Dream back for a bigger surprise in Phoenix.

There are lot of Superstars in NXT and they can’t all be on the card every time. Still, when you have someone like Velveteen Dream around you’d think that NXT could find something for him to do.
