WrestleMania 43 is still months away, but WWE is already starting to put some of the biggest pieces of the card together.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reports that the early construction stages for WrestleMania 43 are now underway, with several major names already being discussed for prominent spots.
Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi remains one of the leading possibilities for the show and is being viewed internally as a potential main event. That direction has already been linked to WrestleMania 43 for months, but the latest update also reveals two other major directions WWE could be considering. One of those involves Rhea Ripley. According to the report, there is hope within WWE that Ripley will be a major part of the WrestleMania 43 card, provided she is healthy enough to compete.
“There’s also hope that the women’s side of the card will feature a heavy focus on Rhea Ripley, health permitting.”
That health qualifier is important considering Ripley has been dealing with an injury absence. Ringside News recently covered how Ripley addressed her WWE return status after she was spotted walking without a knee brace. WWE is also expected to keep Cody Rhodes and CM Punk near the very top of the card.
“We’re also told the additional names expected to occupy prominent spots on the WrestleMania card include Cody Rhodes and CM Punk.”
That could lead WWE right back to one of its biggest possible singles matches. According to the report, one source specifically pointed out that WWE could revisit Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk and position it as the other major match on the show.
“A source noted that WWE could easily run back Punk versus Rhodes, positioning it as the other top-billing contest on the card.”
If WWE goes in that direction, WrestleMania 43 could already have the framework for two huge matches at the top of the card, with Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi on one side and Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk on the other.
Rhodes and Punk are hardly strangers to WWE’s main-event picture. Both have remained among the company’s most heavily featured stars, while Roman Reigns continues to hold one of WWE’s biggest spots. WWE has also spent the last several months positioning Oba Femi as a rising name capable of breaking into that same level.
Nothing is finalized this far out, and WrestleMania plans can change quickly. Still, WWE appears to be moving beyond simple brainstorming now, with some of its biggest stars already being placed into possible marquee directions. If these early plans hold, WrestleMania 43 could end up being built around Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi, another chapter between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, and a major Rhea Ripley match if she is cleared to compete.
