Kamille is still under AEW contract, but you wouldn’t know it by watching the company’s television lately.
The former NWA Women’s Champion has vanished from AEW programming again after briefly resurfacing earlier this year. Sean Ross Sapp addressed her status during a Fightful Q&A and confirmed she remains with the company despite her extended absence. Pasted text
“She’s still under AEW contract.”
Kamille made her AEW return at Dynasty on April 12, 2026, attacking Willow Nightingale backstage before defeating Big Anne on the Zero Hour pre-show. Ringside News covered her return at the time after she had been missing from AEW television since November 2024. That comeback didn’t last long. Her most recent AEW match took place just three days later on the April 15 episode of Dynamite, where Willow Nightingale defeated Kamille in an AEW TBS Championship match. Kamille has wrestled only once since then.
Her latest match anywhere took place for Diamond Championship Wrestling, where Bobbi Thunder defeated her on DCW Synergy 2026 #17. The match aired on August 25 from the Bullet Bob Armstrong Memorial Arena in Theodore, Alabama. Cagematch notes that the exact taping date is unknown, but August 25 was the broadcast date.
Kamille hasn’t exactly been sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. She has worked on projects outside wrestling, including American Gladiators and promotional work for Queen of the Ring. The bigger issue appears to be AEW creative. Kamille returned with a ready-made feud against Willow Nightingale, but that was never designed to launch her into another lengthy run on television.
“There was never a long term plan for her after she was taken off TV for the Mercedes angle ever. They brought her back to get a quick win and put over Willow in her challenge. That’s it. There’s never been a long term plan.”
Kamille is still employed by AEW, but her situation is pretty strange. She came back after more than a year away, wrestled twice for the company in four days, disappeared again and has only worked one match anywhere since. At this point, the real question isn’t whether she still has a contract. It’s whether AEW has anything planned for her before that contract eventually runs out.
What do you think AEW should do with Kamille after another long television absence? Should she return as a singles threat, join a faction or look elsewhere when her deal ends? Let us know what you think in the comments.
