WWE may already have a backup plan for WrestleMania 43 if The Rock does not step back into the ring, as fans could see Roman Reigns take on Oba Femi at the event.
While speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro said WWE is still dealing with several moving pieces when it comes to WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia. However, if The Rock does not wrestle at the event, WWE is looking at Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi as the alternate direction.
“So I talked to someone in WWE, right? There’s a lot of moving pieces right now and they’re still unclear, at least as far as I’m aware, as far as the people I spoke to are aware, I should say. Right now, if Dwayne’s not doing Mania, then they’re looking to do Oba Femi and Roman at Mania.”
That would be a massive spot for Femi, especially with Roman Reigns still sitting near the top of WWE’s biggest stories. A WrestleMania match against Reigns would immediately place Femi in one of the biggest positions of his career.
This comes after reports that WWE and Saudi officials were preparing a record-setting offer to bring The Rock in for WrestleMania 43. The idea has been tied to what could be The Rock’s final match, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
The Rock previously said he was excited about the WrestleMania brand and the Kingdom, while also keeping his answer vague when asked about ongoing conversations. With his Hollywood schedule and long-term plans still factors, WWE appears to be preparing another major match in case The Final Boss does not step into the ring.
Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi would give WWE a very different kind of WrestleMania main event, pitting the established Tribal Chief against one of the company’s most protected stars. If The Rock is unavailable, Femi could end up with the biggest opportunity of his WWE run.
