WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results (11/1/25): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show opens up with Michael Cole welcoming us as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his opponent, Drew McIntyre, are shown on a split-screen arriving at the arena. WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and her opponent, Jade Cargill, are also shown on a split-screen arriving at the Delta Center. Penta, WWE Intercontinental Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Rusev are also shown entering the arena. A focused CM Punk and Jey Uso are also shown on a split-screen arriving at the arena.

We then get a video package looking at the history of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and pyro shot off the stage.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes then made his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Drew McIntyre follows.

Lilian Garcia then starts to do the ring announcements, but McIntyre stops her and tells her to announce him as “The Real American Dream” and she does.

Undisputed WWE Championship Match (Championship Can Change Hands If Cody Is Disqualified Or Counted Out): “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre

The match starts off with Drew cinching a waist lock and Cody gets a standing switch. Drew then hits a back elbow and a knee to the midsection. Cody then hits some punches and some kicks on Drew in the corner. Drew then hits a double thrust to the throat followed by a chop. Cody then chops back and both men continue the exchange. Cody then hits a delayed gourdbuster and Drew goes to the floor. Drew then tells Cody to come to the ring. Cody then goes to the apron, but then returns to the ring so he cannot be goaded into a count out. Drew then tries to send Cody into the referee, but Cody stops short. Both men then lock up and Drew hits some forearms to the face. Both men then go for a test of strength and Drew hits a kick and a punch. Drew then hits a chop and punch. Drew then bites the forehead.

Drew then hits a chop and Cody hits a drop down punch and more punches on Drew. Cody then hits some kicks and Cody is pulled out of the corner, but the referee is knocked aside and it is not enough for a DQ. Drew then hits a kick to the knee. Drew then sends Cody shoulder first into the ring post on the apron and Cody falls to the floor. Drew then sends Cody over the ringside barrier and Drew returns to the ring for the referee to start his count. Cody is able to beat the count. Drew then hits some punches and he stomps on the head. Drew then hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall.

Drew then gets a cravate and hits a double back elbow for a near fall. Cody then punches Drew, but Drew hits an Irish whip and a back body drop for a near fall. Drew then holds his midsection and he goes to the apron and up top. Cody then hits a forearm to stop Drew. Cody then goes to the turnbuckles for a superplex and he hits it. Cody then hits some punches. Cody then hits a power slam. Cody then sets up for a Disaster Kick and he hits it. Drew then blocks a Cody Cutter, but Cody is able to adjust in midair to hit a twisting one for a near fall. Cody then hits some jabs and he winds up for the bionic elbow and hits it. Drew then hits a spinebuster for a near fall. Drew then hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Drew then goes to the floor and he gets the title belt and brings it into the ring. Cody then takes the belt away and he tosses it to the referee and Drew hits a jumping boot for a near fall.

Cody then falls to the floor and Drew goes after Cody and he sets up for the Claymore into the announce desk, but Cody hits a punch to the midsection. Drew then sends Cody to the apron and Drew hits a shoulder that knocks Cody off the apron and through the announce desk. The referee then starts his count. Cody then beats the count back into the ring. Drew then sets up for a Claymore and does the count down. Cody then drops down to avoid the Claymore. Cody then blocks a Future Shock DDT. Cody’s knee then gives out in the corner and the referee checks on him and holds Drew back. Cody then hits a double jump Cody Cutter for a near fall.

Cody then sets up for the Cross Rhodes, but Drew hits a kick. Cody then goes for it again, but Drew backs Cody into the referee and the referee goes down. Drew then hits a head butt. Drew then gets the belt again and he misses Cody. Cody and Drew then both go for cross body presses at the same time and they both go down. Drew then grabs the belt and Cody hits a DDT onto the belt and Cody picks up the belt and sends it to the floor. Cody then sets up for the Cross Rhodes and he hits it for the win.

We then head to the back, where we see CM Punk warming up ahead of his huge World Heavyweight Championship Match tonight.

We then head back to ringside, where Michael Cole and Wade Barrett are sitting among the wreckage of their table and we get a video package looking at the WWE Women’s Championship Match.

We then head to the back, where WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is stretching out the knee that was injured by Jade Cargill. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then comes up to her and gives her a chance to call off the match, but she refuses.

Jade Cargill then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Tiffany Stratton follows.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill

The match starts off with Tiffany hitting some forearms, but Jade pushes her to the mat. Jade then lifts Tiffany up and sends her to the mat and Tiffany favors her knee. Jade then hits a kick to the leg. Jade then goes for a choke slam and hits it. Jade then goes for a pump handle gourdbuster and gets a near fall. Jade then gets a biel and misses a shoulder in the corner and hits the turnbuckle. Tiffany then tries for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Tiffany’s knee gives out. Jade then places Tiffany in the tree of woe and she kicks Tiffany and chokes her from the floor. Jade then gets Tiffany on her shoulders on the floor and hot shots her into the apron.

Jade then breaks the count and returns to the floor and she sends Tiffany onto the ring steps. Jade then goes for a boot, but Tiffany goes low bridges and sends Jade face first into the steps. Tiffany then goes up top and Jade stops her. Tiffany then sends Jade face first to the mat and Tiffany hits a swanton for a near fall. Jade then hits a clothesline and she gets Tiffany on her shoulders and she hits the Eye of the Storm for a near fall. Jade then hits a fallaway slam and follows it up with a second one. Jade then hits a third one for a near fall. Jade then hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Jade then hits another power bomb and follows it up with a third one. Jade then stands over Tiffany and she picks Tiffany up for the Jaded and she gets the win.

After the match, Cargill who has a cut on her left eyebrow, celebrates with the championship.

We then get a video package looking at WWE WrestleMania 42 returning to Las Vegas in 2026.

It is then announced that the first Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2026 will take place in Montreal on January 24th.

Penta then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Rusev and Dominik Mysterio follows.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match: The Judgment Day’s AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Penta vs. “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev

The match starts off with Rusev punching Dominik. Rusev then punches Dominik again and Penta kicks Dominik. Rusev and Penta then exchange punches while Dominik goes to the floor. Penta then hits a chop and Rusev hits a drop kick for a near fall. Dominik then hits a forearm on Rusev, but Rusev blocks an Irish whip. Rusev then blocks a head scissors and hits a back drop. Rusev then hits two suplexes and he throws Dominik’s shirt into the crowd. Rusev then hits a fallaway slam. Rusev then follows Dominik to the floor. Rusev then sets up to send Dominik into the ring post, but Dominik gets to his feet and he sends Rusev into the post.

Penta then hits a flip dive. Dominik then hits a suicide dive on Penta. Dominik and Penta then return to the ring and Penta chops Dom. Penta then hits a forearm and a kick. Penta then hits a hesitation headstand kick. Penta then gets a near fall when Rusev pulls Penta to the floor. Rusev then Irish whips Penta into the ringside barrier. Rusev then sends Penta into the ring steps. Dominik then goes for a suicide dive, but Rusev catches him and hot shots Dominik onto the announce desk. Rusev then hits a European uppercut on Dominik and he talks to the title belt. Rusev then sends Dominik back into the ring and Rusev kicks Dominik in the head.

Rusev then chokes Dominik in the ropes. Rusev then hits a kick to the back. Rusev is then sent into the ropes with a drop toe hold, but Rusev catches Dominik on the 619. Rusev then turns Dominik over and stomps on the back for the Accolade and he applies it. Penta then hits a round kick to force Rusev to release the hold. Rusev then hits an Irish whip on Penta and Penta floats over for a lungblower and a near fall. Penta then hits a series of thrust kicks. Rusev then hits a double sledge when Penta goes for a springboard move. Rusev then hits a kick and a uranage for a near fall.

Rusev then yells at Penta and puts him on the turnbuckles. Rusev then hits some punches on Penta and he sets up for a superplex. Penta then hits some punches and forearms to send Rusev to the mat with a head butt. Rusev then goes for the leg and Penta lands awkwardly on the ropes. Dominik then brings a chair into the ring and he tosses the chair to Rusev and Dominik tries to pull an Eddie, but there are no DQs. Rusev then hits Dominik with the chair. Penta then avoids the chair and he hits a destroyer on Dominik off Rusev’s back.

Penta then hits a thrust kick and a tornado DDT for a near fall. Penta then signals for another Destroyer, but Rusev blocks it and Rusev hits an Alabama Slam. Rusev then misses the jumping thrust kick. Penta then hits a Penta Driver on Rusev for a near fall. Penta then goes to the turnbuckles. Penta then comes off the turnbuckles and Rusev hits a thrust kick and he stomps on the back. Rusev then applies the Accolade and the bell rings and Rusev thinks he won even though no one tapped out. We then see Dominik with the ring bell. Rusev then goes after Dominik and he brings Dominik into the ringside area. Rusev then sends Dominik into the ring and the hammer falls to the mat. Rusev then chases Dominik around ringside and sends him into the ringside barrier. Rusev then punches Dominik and Dominik sends Rusev into the ring steps.

Dominik then gets back into the ring and he goes for the hammer, but Penta stands on it to stop Dominik from using it. Penta then misses Dominik and hits Rusev with the hammer. Dominik then sends Penta into the ring post. Dominik then goes up top and he hits a frog splash for the win.

After the match, Dominik Mysterio celebrates with the WWE Intercontinental Championship and his AAA Mega Championship. Mysterio then says he is the king of the Luchadors.

We then head to the back, where we see Jey Uso warming up with his brother Jimmy Uso.

Michael Cole then mentions an interview that will be broadcast about John Cena. Cena says he promised that he would not stick around when his skills cannot match the product. Cena then says he cannot. Cena then says it is the realization to let these guys have it. Cena then says he rarely speaks in absolutes, but never again. Cena then says he doesn’t want to let the people he promised let down. We then go to comments about his final opponent. Cena then says he has been asked more than any question who does he want to face in his last match. Cena then says the answer has been the same. Cena then says he wants to face the person who wants to have the same opportunity he got on his debut. Cena then says starting in Boston there will be a 16-man tournament to determine his final opponent. Cena then says it will include talent from all over and will include people he has faced in the past as well as people he has never faced. Cena then says the final opponent will not be hand picked, but hard earned. Cena then wishes the winner luck and says you want some come get some.

It is then announced that Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th will begin a 8PM Eastern.

We then get a video package for the main event of the night and Jey Uso makes his way down to the ring. CM Punk then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: “The Best In The World” CM Punk vs. “Main Event” Jey Uso

The match starts off with both men locking up and Jey backs Punk into the corner, but Punk gives a clean break. Punk then gets in Jey’s face and backs away. Both men then lock up again and Jey gives a clean break, but he pushes Punk in the corner. Punk then goes for a GTS, but Jey escapes and gets a near fall with a rollup. Both men then lock up again and Punk cinches in a wrist lock and he works on the arm. Punk then cinches in a side head lock. Punk then hits a shoulder tackle and he gets a near fall. Punk then cinches in a wrist lock and he works on the arm. Punk then cinches in a side head lock and he hits a shoulder tackle. Jey then hits a flying back elbow. Jey then hits a punch and gets a side head lock and a take down. Jey then gets a few near falls.

Jey then hits a shoulder tackle. Punk then gets Jey on his shoulders, but Jey gets to his feet and he goes to the floor. Both men then lock up again and Jey backs Punk into the corner. Punk then hits some forearms and follows it up with a snap mare and some elbow drops. Punk then gets a near fall. Punk then hits a kick and he hits a neck breaker on the second attempt. Punk then gets another near fall. Punk then hits some chops. Jey then hits a Samoan drop. Punk then cinches in a front face lock to stop a spear and Punk gets a near fall. Punk then cinches in a rear chin lock.

Jey then hits some punches. Punk then misses a drop kick when Jey holds on to the ropes and Jey gets a near fall. Jey then gets another near fall. Punk then bridges and he gets Jey up for GTS and Jey falls to the floor. Punk then gets some water and he pours it on Jey before he sends him back into the ring. Punk then sets up for a suplex and he hits it. Punk then gets a near fall. Punk then places Jey on the turnbuckles and he chops Jey. Punk then sets up for a superplex and Jey blocks it. Jey then head butts Punk to the mat. Jey then misses a move off the turnbuckles when Punk moves. Jey then hits some punches. Jey then sends Punk into the turnbuckles and he hits a running hip attack into the corner. Jey then goes for another running hip attack, but Punk goes for a GTS and Jey escapes and hits a super kick and a spear. Jey then hits a frog splash for a near fall.

Jey then goes to the apron and he goes up top. Punk then punches Jey to stop him. Punk then hits some elbows to the head and he sets up for a superplex and he hits it. Punk then hits an elbow to the head followed by a punch. Punk then hits some jabs. Jey then hits a punch and both men go back and forth. Punk then hits a clothesline and a back elbow. Punk then hits a leg lariat. Punk then hits a running knee into the corner followed by a bulldog. Punk then signals for the GTS. Punk then gets Jey up and Jey escapes. Jey then hits a super kick and Punk goes through the ropes and to the floor. Jey then goes for a suicide dive and he hits it.

Jey then gets back into the ring and so does Punk, but Punk goes back to the floor. Jey then sets up for a spear on the floor and both men go through the ringside barrier. Jey then sends Punk back into the ring and Jey goes for a frog splash, but Punk gets his knees up and Punk hits a GTS for a near fall. Punk then goes for a pile driver and Jey escapes and he gets Punk up and hits his own GTS. Punk then hits a spear for a near fall. Both men then get back to their feet and Punk gets Jey up and he hits the GTS and Jey hits the ropes and falls onto Punk. Jey then blocks a GTS and he puts Punk in the sleeper and adds a body scissors.

Punk then rolls through into an Anaconda Vice. Jey then gets to the ropes to force a break. Punk then pulls Jey into the center of the ring and Jey gets a crucifix for a near fall. Jey then hits a super kick and follows it up with a second one. Jey then runs into a knee and Punk gets Jey up for a GTS. Punk then gets Jey up again and he hits another GTS for the win.

After the match, Punk crawls over to Jey and whispers something to him. Punk then takes the World Heavyweight Championship from referee Rod Zapata and puts his head on it. Punk then holds the title up in victory. Punk then celebrates with the title as pyro go off. A dejected Jey then sits at ringside and watches Punk celebrating with the title as the show comes to a close.
