WWE wasted no time setting the table for next week during the WWE NXT episode on September 8, 2026. The company officially announced several matches and segments for the September 15 episode, including a huge NXT Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match.

Kali Armstrong will go one-on-one with Lizzy Rain as their issues continue to heat up. WWE also announced that Myles Borne will appear live for a public apology following the recent drama surrounding him and Tavion Heights.

DarkState will also be back in action, as the group takes on Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux in tag team competition.

The biggest announcement concerns the NXT Championship picture. WWE confirmed that a Triple Threat Match will determine the next No. 1 contender for the title. The three participants will come from Tony D’Angelo, Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars, EK Prosper, Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver, depending on the outcome of their six-man tag team match on September 8.

The early lineup for September 15 currently includes:

  • Kali Armstrong vs. Lizzy Rain
  • Myles Borne public apology
  • DarkState vs. Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux
  • NXT Championship No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match

WWE is already loading up next week’s show, and the No. 1 contender match gives the episode some immediate stakes with the NXT Championship hanging over the entire situation.
